I've found that I kinda like ketchup flavored chips so I'm pretty excited for these. They certainly smell ketchup-y. I'm a bit confused by the added 'tomato' in the title... what other sort of ketchup would it be? I'm quite sure I don't know.
Bag is pretty basic and pink-ish which I guess stands for... ketchup?
But what do they taste like?
Wow salty. Not in a bad way, but surprising. They're salty and have the tanginess of ketchup without all of the tomato flavor. It's an odd mix. It tastes a bit like what I'd imagine the clear stuff that sometimes comes out of the ketchup bottle would taste like. They're also a bit deceptive, as they don't look particularly ketchup-y, but, in fact, they are! Mysterious.
Tangy is definitely the word I'd use to describe these. I happen to like tangy, so I like these just fine, but I can see someone expecting a more traditional 'ketchup' flavor being confused. Do I like 'em? Sure! They're ketchup chips and those are neat. I don't remember much about the Lays version, but I'd be interested in comparing the two. Which ketchup chip is supreme!? Who knows?!

Walkers Quavers
Billed as a 'light curly potato snack' I somehow thought these would be like Cheetos. They are not! Well - they might be taste-wise, but they aren't shape...wise. Got these at the British shop where I've purchased some other goodies. Actually... I probably need to go back soon. Anyway - these are 'cheese flavour' so I expect these will taste like cheese.
Off the bat - I was confused by the shape. They look like Fritos, but smell like Cheetos! How do they do such sorcery?
But what do they taste like?
A little, and not unpleasantly, like a cheese Funyun. And... I'm kinda okay with that. It's like a Funyun without all the little nibblies that fall off of it, and with a hint of cheese. Salty, yet a little savory, but mostly salty. The cheese is pretty fake tasting, but that's to be expected really.
Eating them is noisy, but the actual chip isn't hard - it's rather soft. They're also weird shapes which is fun, but sometimes hard to grab a handful as bits fall off. I mostly taste salt over cheese, but hey - I am a big fan of salt, so that's no problem for me. I think I'd like these better if they were cheesier (hey - they're cheese flavour - I want what I pay for), but I am rather fond of them.
I'd definitely get these again, despite the cheese tasting a little chemically. There's something fun about eating them and how noisy they are while also being delicious. They're almost a little too salty, but not enough that it bothers me.

Walkers Worcester Sauce
I'm a bit nervous about these Walkers Worcester Sauce chips, as I don't particularly like Worcester sauce. But I am willing to give these a shot for chip tasting science!
The bag is purple, the chips are from the UK chip shop I sometimes go to. They also smell a bit like ketchup. Kinda tangy ketchup maybe?
But what do they taste like?
Salty and tangy and... not that bad! I'm honestly kinda shocked. They won't be my favorite chips, but I actually... like these. Not a lot, mind you, but enough that I'll keep eating them. Though... the more I eat them... the more I like them. I know! I'm as surprised as you are! I forget what Worcester sauce tastes like, as I don't eat it often, but these... are... a little like BBQ sauce maybe? But they're not! It's like tangier BBQ sauce. Maybe... it's a bit like salt and vinegar chips and also BBQ sauce?
Let the record show that I've happily polished off the whole bag. I opened these up figuring I'd eat a few and give up on them, but no! I'm still trying to properly define the flavor. Okay - here's what it comes down to. The flavor isn't super overpowering, but it's subtly delicious. I don't know if it tastes like Worcester sauce (it might!), but I like it. If anything, I'd almost prefer it to be a bit stronger.
Does this mean I need to try Worcester sauce again? Maybe! Does it mean that I want to find and eat these chips again? Absolutely.

Walkers Sensations Thai Sweet Chili
More Walkers chips - thank you, UK candy store nearby that also sells chips! They had this bag and I bought them. Simple as that, friends.
The bag itself has two chili peppers on it, so I'm expecting to be in some pain. Wahoo! But, when I open the bag up... possible deception! These mostly just smell like potatoes. And look a little like Christmas with their red and green speckles.
But what do they taste like?
Overall? Not worth it. The spiciness is without any real flavor and if I wanted chips that tasted like potatoes, I'd buy plain chips. They're not awful, but I wouldn't buy them again

Like weirdly spicy potatoes is what they taste like. My tongue is burning and I can't even pinpoint which taste of the chip caused it. It's just burn-y. They're really pretty mild, apart from the sudden onset mouth burn that disappears nearly as quickly as it arrived.
I wish I had more to say, but these don't taste like much more than spiced potatoes. This is not what I expected from Thai Sweet Chili - or from Sensations! With a bag like that I thought there'd be sensations.Overall? Not worth it. The spiciness is without any real flavor and if I wanted chips that tasted like potatoes, I'd buy plain chips. Walkers Cheese and Onion
I picked these up at the UK store near my apartment. I think I've heard that the cheese and onion are good, but I can't remember. Still... I like cheese and I like onion so how bad can it be? They had a bag of these in MAX style, that looked like Ruffles (with ridges), but I opted for the original after the salesguy recommended them.
Walkers seem to be the Lay's of the UK so they look pretty much as expected. Though, Walkers never seem to have flavoring stuff on them. I'm used to onion nibblies being green (from sour cream and onion chips) so these chips seem deceptively plain.
But what do they taste like?
Salty! The strongest flavors are the salt and onion. The onion has a bit of a bite to it - almost like eating raw onions, rather than cooked ones. I'm not really getting much 'cheese' actually. The flavor doesn't last very long, which isn't that surprising considering the chips look like they have no seasoning on them.
I wish I tasted more cheese - or knew if I was tasting cheese. I can definitely taste the onion, but the cheese is much more subtle. Maybe the cheese is supposed to be that saltiness that hits the first time you bit into a chip? Not sure, but the onion is definitely the main flavor.
Still, despite not being cheese-y enough, they're pretty good! I do wish the flavor lasted longer - after a minute or two I just taste a hint of onion and chip, but other than that it's pretty mild. These aren't my favorite chips, but I'd get them again. I like onions so the stronger onion flavor doesn't bother me. If you hate onions, though, I'd give these a pass.

Walkers Prawn Cocktail
I got these in the same aisle I got the Hula Hoops and for the same reason. International chips woo! I've also always been intrigued by prawn cocktail flavored chips because... what the heck? Who thinks this would be a good flavor? In the International Chips post, Ciara and Gemma said they have a fishy smell and I believe they enjoyed them. What could go wrong?!
These pretty much look like Lay's which isn't surprising really. Weirdly, they kind of smell like ketchup. They smell a lot like ketchup. Have to say I wasn't expecting that! What other surprises do these chips have in store I wonder!
But what do they taste like?
Wow they are salty. I mostly just taste salt and kind of a strange sweetness. It's hard to describe the saltiness of these because they aren't traditionally salty. It's the kind of salt that burns your mouth - you feel it rather than taste it. And I really taste a very strong salty ketchup flavor. It suddenly occurs to me that I have no idea what prawns taste like, but I'm fairly certain they should be fishier than this. This is such a strong flavor - like a punch to the mouth really. But weirdly, it doesn't last very long.
There's a slight burning on my tongue still, but other than that the ketchup is basically gone. The chips themselves are also extremely flimsy... kinda like Lay's. You know, I think this isn't so much 'prawn' flavor, but more the actual prawn cocktail sauce flavor. It's not the worst flavor, but it's strange.
Ciara tried the Tayto brand and these are Walkers so perhaps that's the difference. I'm also really amazed by this ketchup-esque flavor. It's not quite ketchup, but it's not prawns. I don't really like the flavor, but I don't dislike it either. They're not chips I would buy again, though that weird sweetness is kinda growing on me.
